About the Item

Elegant vintage Neoclassical / Georgian Revival extending dining table with three removable extension leaves, apparently unmarked. The table is crafted in a richly figured warm brown wood with a polished finish and features a long rectangular top with softly rounded corners, a molded apron, and finely articulated turned and fluted legs. The apron is embellished with carved vertical floral and foliate details above the legs, while turned stretchers connect paired supports at the ends. The overall form has a refined late Georgian and Federal character, combining classical symmetry with a lighter, more graceful profile than heavier traditional dining tables. With all three leaves installed, the table extends to an impressive 99.25 inches, making it well suited for a substantial dining room or entertaining space. The leaves can be removed individually, allowing the table to be adapted for smaller gatherings. The design recalls furniture associated with Thomas Sheraton and George Hepplewhite, as well as later American and English Neoclassical furniture by makers such as Baker Furniture, Kittinger and Henredon. These names are included strictly as stylistic references; the table is unmarked and is not attributed to any specific designer or manufacturer. The table retains an attractive aged surface and presents very well. As expected from an older piece, there are nicks, scratches, finish wear and other signs of normal use, particularly to the top, apron and legs. These age-related characteristics contribute to its vintage appearance. No manufacturer’s labels or identifying marks were found. Measurements: - Without leaves: 63.25 in. W × 42.00 in. D × 30.00 in. H - With 1 leaf: 75.25 in. W - With 2 leaves: 87.25 in. W - With all 3 leaves: 99.25 in. W - Height to underside of apron: 25.00 in. - Each leaf: approximately 12.00 in.
