About the Item

A striking “Fiorenza” extendable dining table, designed by Tito Agnoli for Molteni, Italy, circa 1968. The table is executed in beautifully figured Tanganyika walnut veneer and is particularly distinguished by the carefully composed radial veneer pattern of its circular top. The grain converges towards the centre, creating a subtle sunburst effect that gives the otherwise restrained design a highly decorative quality. In its closed position, the table forms an elegant circle measuring 130 cm in diameter. Two original extension leaves allow it to be enlarged in stages to 174 cm and, when fully extended, to an impressive 218 cm while retaining its generous 130 cm width. The substantial curved apron and sculptural intersecting panel legs give the table a strong architectural presence. Agnoli’s design combines geometric clarity with the warmth and richness of the walnut, resulting in a piece that feels both distinctly Italian and remarkably contemporary. A particularly versatile design: intimate and sculptural when used as a round table, yet capable of becoming a generously proportioned dining or conference table when fully extended. Dimensions: Closed: Ø 130 × H 75 cm With one extension: L 174 × W 130 × H 75 cm Fully extended: L 218 × W 130 × H 75 cm
