About the Item

The 'Petali' bar stool, created by Atelier Barberini & Gunnell, was conceived with the idea of creating an enveloping backrest, as though petals suspended in the air formed a soft embrace. Upholstered in the finest quality leather, the backrest is distinguished by a composition of padded, rounded elements that rise gracefully from the seat and are connected by teardrop-shaped aluminum details, manufactured through high-precision mechanical processes and plated in 24-carat gold. Beneath the seat cushion, a gold-plated profile enhances the design, together with the four turned aluminum legs, mirror-polished and plated in 24-carat gold. The distinctive petal pattern has become a signature motif of Atelier Barberini & Gunnell and frequently appears in other creations, including decorative panels, marquetry surfaces, and bespoke furnishings. Due to its complexity, the design and production of this bar stool represented a significant technical challenge. Its execution requires exceptional craftsmanship, extensive experience, and the expertise of highly skilled upholsterers, capable of shaping and assembling each individual element with precision. Every stool is handcrafted in Italy. The 'Petali' bar stool is also available as a dining chair. Bar stool dimensions: L 60 × W 58 × H 117 cm (seat height: 80 cm) / L 23.6 × W 22.8 × H 46 in (seat height: 31.5 in). A wide range of customization options is available, including numerous color choices, leather or fabric upholstery, and alternative finishes for the metal components, allowing the chair to be perfectly tailored to any interior environment. Each bar stool is hand signed and numbered by the artists (engraved), 100% handmade in Italy and comes with a “Certificate of Authenticity”. The artworks by Barberini & Gunnell are regularly shown at international art fairs, such as PAD London, PAD Genève, PAD Monaco, Salon Art and Design New York, Art Miami. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SHIPPING: Please contact us for an independent shipping quote as we provide high quality shipping at competitive prices due to our frequency of shipping, relations with international shipping companies and the possibility to organize directly from Italy. We take care of the entire customs procedure and paperwork. On request we organize a white glove delivery and installation of the artwork inside of the property of the client. All shipments are ALL-RISK insured. We carefully pack all artworks in strong wooden crates to ensure safe transport. This service is done directly in our atelier and is complimentary. All of our artworks travel with a shock watch system in order to monitorate rough handling by shippers and movers.
