About the Item

Wicker bar stool by Dutch manufacturer Rohe Noordwolde, designed in the style of Charlotte Perriand's influential wicker seating. The woven wicker seat and low back form a single curved shell in a medium golden brown tone, supported by a chrome tubular metal frame with four splayed legs and an integrated rectangular footrest. Rubber caps protect the leg tips. Weld points are visible at the frame junctions, consistent with period production methods. Rohe Noordwolde, based in the Netherlands, was a leading producer of wicker and rattan furniture from the mid-twentieth century onward. The studio became known for producing wicker seating designs influenced by the work of Charlotte Perriand, whose wicker basket chairs and stools gained wide popularity through her collaborations with Le Corbusier and her own independent work. Perriand's wicker designs were widely referenced and reproduced by European manufacturers throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Shows visible wear and some weld spots consistent with age and use.
