About the Item

Sculptural and very beautiful 1940s Model 1628 open arm lounge chair with spindle back. Designed by Tyge Hvass for Fritz Hansen 1940's. Rare find. Made from amber stained lacquered beech wood. This type of chairs have become very sought after due to their light and sculptural design adding charm and playfulness to any room. Elegant from all angles, the wood frame is in very good condition and we have lightly refinished them allowing them to still show a bit of their original patina and wear including appropriate age wear with minor scuffing and scratches, patina and surface wear on the armrests but they are in overall very good solid sturdy condition. Very versatile and fantastic for the bedroom or study. We offer reupholstery services for these chairs at a very competitive price.
