Established in 2006, Morentz has a team of approximately 55 restorers, upholsterers, interior advisers and art historians, making it a gallery, workshop and upholstery studio, all in one. Every day, a carefully selected array of 20th-century furniture arrives from all over the world at the firm’s warehouse, where the team thoroughly examines each piece to determine what, if any, work needs to be done. Whether that means new upholstery or a complete restoration, Morentz's aim is always to honor the designer’s intention while fulfilling the wishes of the client. The team is up to any challenge, from restoring a single piece to its original glory to furnishing a large-scale hotel project.

Set Of Six 1970s French Oak Brutalist Dining Chairs With Upholstered Seats
Located in High Point, NC
This set of six 1970s French oak Brutalist dining chairs presents a striking balance of sculptural form and honest craftsmanship. Defined by their strong ladder-back construction and rectilinear silhouettes, each chair emphasizes solid proportions and architectural clarity typical of the Brutalist movement. The richly toned oak frames display pronounced grain and a warm, natural patina that enhances their tactile presence. Upholstered seats in a neutral fabric soften the bold structure while providing comfortable support for everyday dining. Substantial legs and simple stretcher bases reinforce the chairs’ sturdy construction and utilitarian appeal. Graphic yet versatile, this cohesive set works beautifully in rustic, modern, or eclectic interiors, offering a confident statement at the dining table while celebrating the raw materials and functional design language of 1970s French Brutalist furniture.
