About the Item

A large, early 20th-century French oak park bench loaded with unique character. This bench consists of 3 tongue and groove oak planks that run its entire length. An interesting backrest made from a single rail atop trestle supports divides the bench into two seats, which are wide and sturdy enough to comfortably accommodate 4 sitters on either side. All throughout, we find beautiful signs of age and wear with a richly patinated surface punctuated by nicks and scratches in the wood and areas of roughed-up finish. Four square, tapered legs support the seat with equally stunning weathering. With its unique appeal, this park bench would make a lovely addition to any space and would work perfectly in a large entryway or foyer. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions.
