About the Item

A beautiful and unique piece of mid-century industrial design, this heavy-duty steel bench offers a unique blend of utilitarian history and modern design. Originally crafted for seating in a gymnasium or school locker room from the 1950s or 60s, this bench has been thoughtfully updated with a striking, dark blue tanned leather upholstery. The bench's construction speaks to a bygone era of function-first design. It is a substantial, solid piece, retaining the inherent weight and stability of its industrial origins. The heavy steel frame, once used to fold, but now provides a fixed, sturdy base. The dark blue leather seat offers a durable yet sophisticated contrast to the raw metal, making it a statement piece for a discerning collector.
