About the Item

Mid century white ceramic globe table lamp "La Luna" by Pagani & Pellegrini for Gabbianelli, Italy, 1967 La Luna, "the moon", is a sculptural Italian ceramic table lamp designed in 1967 by Paola Pagani and Carlo Pellegrini for the ceramic manufacturer Gabbianelli. It is made of two glazed white hemispheres stacked with a narrow gap between them. The light source sits inside that gap, so the lamp gives both direct and reflected light. The effect is a soft glow around the equator of the globe, like a moon at rest. The lamp comes from the golden age of Italian ceramic lighting, when Space Age forms and glossy glazes turned a table lamp into a design statement. It works as a bedside, console or sideboard light, and as a sculptural object when switched off. La Luna will be shipped insured overseas in a custom made wooden crate. Cost of transport to the US, Euro 275, is crate included. Price for one lamp. Colors may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or your monitor settings. Wear consistent with age and use.
