Plaster Lighting

John Dickinson Style White Plaster Shell Form Pendant Light Fixture.

An exceptional pair of mid-to-late 20th-century Neoclassical style table lamps, masterfully crafted after the famous antiquity known as the Townley Vase. These striking statement lamps feature covered campana-form urns adorned with high-relief Greek and Roman mythological figures capturing a lively Bacchanalian festival. Each urn is flanked by elegant scrolled architectural loop handles and capped with a fluted lid, resting atop an integrated, beautifully textured diamond-quilted (waffle-patterned) square plinth pedestal base. Rendered in a crisp matte white plaster bisque or finish, this pair perfectly balances grand Classical Revival scale with clean, minimalist texture. Design Details • Inspiration: Modeled after the iconic 2nd-century Roman marble Townley Vase currently housed in the British Museum. • Motif: Intricate high-relief sculptural frieze depicting Pan, satyrs, and maenads in a classical celebration. • Base: Geometric diamond-patterned plinth adds a subtle modern contrast to the classical relief work. • Period: 20th Century • Styles: Neoclassical, Classical Revival, Hollywood Regency, Grand Tour Neoclassical lamps, Townley Vase urns, Bacchanalian relief, Roman mythological table lamps, pair of vintage plaster lamps, Greek revival lighting, 20th century classical lamps, Hollywood Regency urn lamps...
