The impressive deep gallery border is ornamented with pierced decorated vertical geometric baluster style designs. The rim of the gallery is embellished with an applied reed decorated border. This antique silver tray is fitted with a pair of sterling silver handles embellished with scrolling leaf decoration to the terminals. The tray is supported by four impressive bun style feet. The surface of this sterling silver serving tray is embellished with impressive and rare commemorative engraved decoration incorporating two large portraits of King Edward VII and Princess Alexandra. The surface is further embellished with four engraved scenes of the Royal family homes, in addition to a large central Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom, above the motto 'Dieu et mon droit ' - God and my right; this is the motto of the Monarch of the United Kingdom.
