About the Item

A refined and collectible salt and pepper grinder set designed by the acclaimed Danish duo Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen. The design is immediately recognisable: two brushed aluminium cylinders, one capped in white for salt, one in black for pepper, seated in their original matching stand. Minimal, precise, and entirely without excess — exactly what Danish design of this era did best. Rather than conventional mills, these grinders use a rasp mechanism — acting like a fine file, shredding the condiments instead of grinding them. This preserves both aroma and flavour longer. A single press of the top button is all it takes. Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen were among the most celebrated Danish designers of the mid-century period, known for their meticulous attention to material and form. This set is a quiet but confident example of their work beyond furniture. Complete with original stand. In very good vintage condition. Condition Very good vintage condition. Minor signs of age consistent with a piece from the 1970s.
