About the Item

An exceptional set of twelve mid-20th century Tableware wine / water glass service by the renowned Belgian glassmaker Val Saint Lambert, dating to circa 1950s. Established in Belgium in the 19th century, Val Saint Lambert became particularly celebrated for the quality of its crystal and its sophisticated approach to cut, color, form, and decorative finishing. This elegant service is distinguished by its classical 24K gilt-gold decoration, featuring beautifully rendered grape clusters and scrolling vines arranged across the clear cut crystal glass. The botanical motif gives the glasses a refined and traditional character, while the clean lines of the decoration allow the clarity and substantial quality of the glass to remain prominent. The combination of the grape-and-vine motif and luminous gilt detailing makes this service particularly appropriate for serving wine / water. Each glass has a pleasing substantial weight, comfortable proportions, and a well-balanced form that provides a satisfying grip in the hand. Measuring approximately 7 inches high by 3 3/4 inches in diameter. The bright gilt decoration remains exceptionally attractive, giving the service an elegant presence that can serve as both functional tableware, barware and a decorative collection. The set is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The 24K gilt-gold decoration remains bright and well preserved, with minor wear consistent with age and use.

Lenox Mansfield Coupe Champagne Glasses Set of 8 with 24K Gold Trim

Lenox Mansfield Coupe Champagne Glasses Set of 8 with 24K Gold Trim

Located in Clifton Springs, NY

The vintage set of beautiful Lenox Mansfield crystal glasses features coupe champagne form with 24k gold trim on the rim of the glass. The pattern was in production from 1965 to 1986; it is characterized by cut 6-sided faceted stems, raising from wide round bases and supporting streamlined, minimal bowls. The Lenox Mansfield pattern was initially introduced for china in 1950 (pattern code C-513); it was credited not to a specific individual designer, but to the in-house design studio. Frank Graham Holmes served as the chief designer for Lenox from 1905 until 1954, overseeing the development of the china and formal tableware shapes and establishing the clean, restrained American tableware aesthetic of the period. Lenox expanded into crystal production after acquiring the Bryce Brothers Company in 1965, the year Mansfield crystal pattern was created. The pattern matches not only multiple popular Lenox china set...
