About the Item

Own a piece of Italian hospitality history with this iconic glazed ceramic ashtray from the world-renowned Harry’s Bar in Venice. This authentic vintage piece features the bar's legendary signature logo in the center: a meticulous relief of a bartender with a cocktail shaker, framed by the classic "HARRY’S BAR" and "VENEZIA" lettering. Finished in a sophisticated moss-green glaze, it embodies the timeless Mid-Century Modern elegance of the 1950s and 60s. Historical Significance Founded in 1931 by Giuseppe Cipriani, Harry’s Bar is more than just a venue—it is a National Landmark of Italy. It gained global fame as the birthplace of the Bellini cocktail and the Carpaccio. For decades, it served as the "living room" for the world’s intellectual and social elite. This ashtray style would have sat on the tables while regular patrons like Ernest Hemingway, Charlie Chaplin, Peggy Guggenheim, and Orson Welles sipped their dry martinis. We always give Harry's Bar a visit when we are in Venice. (mixing business and pleasure). Owning this piece is not just about the object itself, but about the storied atmosphere of 20th-century Venetian glamour it represents.
