About the Item

The Three Layer Vase captures the tradition of Czech households, where glass collections are carefully displayed in vitrines and reserved for special occasions, reinterpreting these familiar patterns in a new spatial dimension. While cut glass is traditionally applied to crystal objects as a single surface, the use of flat glass layers opens a new way of working with the craft, expanding it into a layered composition with depth and shifting optical effects. The piece is part of "The Romance of Fragility / Glass", an exhibition exploring the value and potential of fragility through uses and interpretations of the ultimate fragile material: glass.
