“He was tall, had a well-proportioned body, broad and protruding chests, muscular and well-turned arms, strong joints, a flat stomach, robust thighs, decidedly strong legs, expressive eyes, an energetic face, dark skin, a flowing head of hair with black hair pulled back at the nape of the neck. He was skilled at riding and throwing the javelin, excellent at jumping and in the gym, and was accustomed to dedicating himself with passion to hunting. He was magnanimous and constant, religious and of good morals, he was very interested in painting, music and all beautiful things. He also had a talent for poetry: he wrote some poems in the vernacular, full of serious and important thoughts, and he liked to read love poems. He did not care much about the care of his body, but he was really elegant and distinguished. He was very kind and full of humanity, he had great respect for his brother, as well as strength and virtue. These and other qualities made him dear to the people and to his own”.
