About the Item

Elegant antique 800 silver folding double picture frame, featuring finely textured silver surfaces with ornate floral and foliate repoussé decoration. The rectangular frame is designed to stand open in a book-style configuration and retains its original hinged construction. The exterior is embellished with delicate scrolling floral motifs at the corners and center, surrounding a finely crosshatched ground that gives the piece a subtle, luxurious texture. The interior retains its original silver-toned backing and hinged structure. Marked “800,” indicating 800/1000 silver fineness. The frame displays a naturally aged patina consistent with its antique character, including areas of tarnish and surface wear. A charming decorative object suitable for displaying a cherished photograph, portrait, or small artwork, and equally appealing as an example of antique European silver craftsmanship.
