About the Item

A pair of Georg Jensen sterling silver two-light candelabra, design no. 630A by Harald Nielsen, drawn in 1930 to go with his Pyramid flatware of 1926. The stepped blocks that give the pattern its name run up the stem and out along the arms, so the shape builds in layers rather than curving. Pyramid belongs to the wave of interest in ancient Egypt that followed the opening of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922, worked through the Art Deco style of the time. Hollowware in the pattern is much scarcer than the flatware. Dimensions: each 6" (15.2 cm) high with a 6 5/8" (16.8 cm) span Hallmarks: Georg Jensen, Sterling, 630A, and HN for Harald Nielsen Weight: Combined weight of the pair: approximately 750 grams (26.45 oz) Condition: excellent throughout, polished by our Georg Jensen-trained silversmith

Georg Jensen Antique Silver Candelabra #93

A pair of antique Danish silver Georg Jensen candelabra, design #93 by Georg Jensen in 1918. The meticulous silversmithing showcased in these candelabra is truly remarkable, adorned with an abundance of intricately chased floral motifs and delicate beads. The fabrication process would have required a significant amount of time and skill, as each detail was carefully crafted by hand. Each candelabrum stands on a large round base supported by five elegantly designed feet resembling berries or buds. The hand-hammered stem is exceptionally thick, contributing to the overall grandeur of the design. Two gracefully curved arms extend from the stem, holding a substantial sconce...
