About the Item

A beautiful rectangular Chinese jewelry box from the 1950s, crafted from wood and featuring an intricate geometric lattice pattern in light and dark tones across the front, sides, and lid. The door is enhanced by a relief carving of a peacock with its tail fanned out, surrounded by curvilinear motifs. It features a small latch, a top handle, and four openwork feet. The piece retains variations in tone, patina, minor scuffs, and slight irregularities characteristic of its craftsmanship and history of use. A piece of exceptional artisanal quality, suitable for storage or as a decorative accent in eclectic, classic, or Oriental-inspired interiors.
