About the Item

A charming circular hand painted wooden bandbox with a winter landscape in oil. Used to store hats. A painted horse drawn carriage sits against winter snow, houses, and trees. The bottom of the box is unpainted. Made in the United States circa the 19th Century. Craftsmanship and style is consistent with similar boxes made in New England. No obvious markings on this piece.
