Original 1967 Grand Prix de l'ACF Poster, Circuit Bugatti

Original 1967 Grand Prix de l'ACF Poster, Circuit Bugatti

Located in PARIS, FR

This original 1967 Grand Prix de l'ACF poster captures one of the defining moments of Formula One's golden era. Featuring a striking race photograph by André Delourmel, it was produced to promote the 53rd Grand Prix de l'Automobile Club de France, held on 2 July 1967 at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans alongside the Trophée de la Sarthe (Formula 3). Combining dramatic action photography with bold period typography, the poster perfectly reflects the excitement and prestige of international motor racing during the 1960s. The image freezes a spectacular pack of Formula One cars charging through the Bugatti Circuit, with the vibrant blue French Matras racing alongside legendary competitors from the era. Rather than relying on illustration, Delourmel's dynamic photograph places the viewer directly at trackside, conveying the speed, noise and intensity that made Formula One one of the world's fastest-growing spectator sports. The composition captures the optimism of 1960s motorsport, when technological innovation, national pride and charismatic drivers defined the championship. The 1967 French Grand Prix occupies an important place in Formula One history. Held at Le Mans' Bugatti Circuit, the race brought together many of the sport's greatest manufacturers and drivers during one of its most competitive seasons. This was the era of lightweight three-litre Formula One machines, featuring legendary names such as Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, Jack Brabham, Denny Hulme, Dan Gurney and the emerging French Matra team. The event symbolised the growing international prestige of Formula One while celebrating France's long-standing contribution to motor racing through the Automobile Club de France. Photographer André Delourmel became renowned for documenting French motorsport with remarkable precision and energy. His racing photographs appeared on numerous promotional posters, programmes and official publications, preserving iconic moments from endurance racing, Formula One and other major competitions. This poster exemplifies his ability to transform documentary photography into a powerful piece of graphic design. Original Formula One posters...
