Three female silhouettes emerge from a dense field of midnight blue and deep violet. Artist Robin Okun works with acrylic and charcoal, building the composition through scraped layers, expressive line work, and energetic strokes of chartreuse and coral. The vivid accents stand out against the dark ground, while the figures hover between dissolving into the surrounding color and asserting their presence. The gestural marks and atmospheric palette give the painting a distinctly nocturnal energy.

About the Artist
Artist Robin Okun draws on her background as a somatic psychotherapist to infuse vibrant color, body language, and movement into her modern expressionist paintings of women. "It's a privilege to co-create healing spaces with women as their narratives unfold, and we process them together," says Robin. Working from her light-filled Philadelphia loft, she draws inspiration from everything around her, from photographs and live models to her own imagination and instincts. Robin's studio life allows her to work on multiple paintings at once, embracing texture, pattern, line, and form through charcoal, acrylics, washes, brushes, rollers, and stencils. Outside of painting, she treasures time with family, friends, and her dog. She recharges through walking, dance, and group fitness classes, and enjoys psychologically rich movies and documentaries balanced with lighthearted humor.
