About the Item

This work is part of the most recognized technique of Danish artist Peter Kramer (1959, Roskilde), the unique painting technique he developed called "cotton knots." For weeks, he obsessively knots spools of thread, then cuts the knots one by one and glues them to the surface. The surface can be canvas, wood, or any other material the artist chooses. The result is moving, a completely handcrafted process full of symbolism. In this case, the dimensions of this work are 75 x 75 cm. The technique used is cotton cord, India ink, and wood glue on canvas mounted on board. It is a painting from 2014. If you need more photographs or information about the work, please feel free to send us a message.

By Kim Fonder

BLANCO IV by artist Kim Fonder is a white and grey contemporary abstract minimalist mixed media on burlap painting that measures 64 x 64 and is priced at $6,800. Kim Fonder loves texture and touch. Her paintings and furniture reflect her infatuation with these two characteristics. From the materials Fonder selects, to the way she crafts each piece; these two attributes remain her focus. She seeks to honor Leonardo Da Vinci's words, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
