Born in Vietnam’s Hung Yen Province in 1969, artist Nguyen Cong Cu has received recognition for his striking gritty urban commentaries on navigating contemporary life in Vietnam. His work is at once both provocative and familiar as he draws inspiration from Basquiat while applying the surreal expressionism through his original lens. His use of oil and acrylic on canvas gives a unique perspective and interpretation of the human condition. He is an alumnus of the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts. Cu works and lives in Hanoi. His works are part of private collections in Denmark, Canada, America and Australia. He has had many exhibitions to his credit till date.
