Vines, Abstract Painting

2026

Artist Comments
The abstract fluid painting features streams of red, orange, and green acrylic paint against a white background. The poured colors twist and blend into irregular, flowing shapes. Inspired by the spring season, the composition evokes a strong sense of movement and energy.

About the Artist
Artist Krispen Spencer creates flowing abstract paintings that celebrate color, movement, and transformation. "During the intuitive first stages of my painting process, images may appear and then disappear, as a singular shape gives birth to another, or as two colors become a third," says Krispen. Color is central to her practice, guiding compositions that emerge through a process of pouring premixed acrylic paints directly onto the canvas. She developed her distinctive brushless technique while earning her MFA at Texas Woman's University, using paints of varying viscosities to create rich textures and unexpected interactions. Embracing both intention and chance, she allows the medium to respond and evolve on its own terms. The resulting works capture a sense of fluidity and discovery, with colors flowing across the surface in compositions that reflect her creative spirit.
