*Arriving on Time* by Gay Summer Rick is a striking oil painting that captures the essence of light and movement within an abstract landscape. Using bold brushstrokes and vibrant hues, Rick blends warm shades of orange, pink, and yellow with cool blues and purples, evoking a serene yet dynamic atmosphere. The title suggests the idea of a moment perfectly timed, whether metaphorically or literally, inviting the viewer into a space of contemplation. The painting's thick texture and luminous palette reflect Rick’s mastery of creating depth and dimension, drawing the eye to the interplay of light across the canvas. Measuring 60 x 48 inches, this large-scale work is a commanding presence, perfect for a collector seeking an impactful and emotive piece.

Gay Summer Rick
Gay Summer Rick’s primary preoccupation is the search for beauty and has found her spending years culling urban landscapes for hidden treasure. A longtime Los Angeles transplant from New York, Rick has used painting to reclaim home and her place in ever changing cityscapes. Rick’s work expresses quiet vibration and the surprising beauty of commonplace elements found in the urban environment. Her work describes this in a dreamlike yet familiar manner. Rick’s paintings are created using palette knives and layered veils of color, and they articulate the pulse of life where the city meets the sea, rendering her work as energetic as the tides that pull the ocean to and from the shore.
