Why did Dalí paint Lincoln?
1 Answer
Salvador Dalí painted Abraham Lincoln as a part of his lithograph Lincoln in Dalivision. It was his goal to create a work of art that would allow the shape of Lincoln's head to emerge from the abstracted composition when viewed from a distance. You'll find a variety of Salvador Dalí art on 1stDibs.
